Supporting Your Family Through Every Season of Navy Life
Navy life doesn’t happen only to the Sailor. Families experience the waiting, transitions, uncertainty, pride, distance, and homecomings too.
Whether your loved one is at boot camp, attending A School, settling into a first duty station, or serving through deployment, this page is here to help you understand the journey and find resources for the season you’re in.
The Beginning of the Journey
Boot camp can bring pride and excitement alongside worry, uncertainty, and a lot of waiting. Communication may be limited, routines at home change, and families often find themselves learning Navy life right alongside their recruit.
Anchored Press resources for this season are designed to help families stay connected, record the journey, and remain grounded in faith while their recruit works toward becoming a Sailor.

The Next Step After Boot Camp
Graduation from boot camp is a major milestone, but the Navy journey is just beginning. For many Sailors, A School brings a new base, specialized training, greater independence, and another period of adjustment.
For families, this season can mean changing communication patterns, new questions, and learning how to support a Sailor whose Navy life is becoming increasingly their own.
Anchored Press resources for this season are currently in development.
Finding Their Way in a New Place
A first duty station marks another major transition. Your Sailor may be moving across the country—or across the world—while learning a new command, building new routines, and taking on greater responsibility.
For families, supporting them can begin to look different too. Staying connected while allowing them room to grow is part of this new season.

Staying Anchored Across the Distance
Deployment can bring pride, worry, loneliness, uncertainty, and long stretches of waiting. Communication may be unpredictable, important moments may happen while your Sailor is away, and both the Sailor and the people at home must adjust to life across the distance.
Faith, connection, and steady support can help families navigate this season while remembering that distance does not diminish the bonds that hold them together.

Every Navy family has a story worth remembering.
Your experiences—the hard days, funny moments, unexpected lessons, milestones, and memories—can encourage another family walking a similar road.
Anchored Press is collecting stories from Navy families, Sailors, and veterans to help preserve these experiences and inform future resources.
